Right now this site does one thing: it collects the answers you give on the waiting list form and the email address you give us. We use it to build the product and to email you when it is ready. We do not sell it, we do not share it with your agency, and you can have it deleted by asking.
Who we are
Smokey Ledger is operated by Wild Path Freedom LLC, a Montana limited liability company located in Whitefish, Montana. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Wild Path Freedom LLC, and "you" means the person filling out the waiting list form or otherwise contacting us.
Smokey Ledger is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the USDA Forest Service, the Department of the Interior, or any other federal or state agency.
What we collect at this stage
Smokey Ledger is in pre release. There is no app account yet. The only personal information we collect is what you type into the waiting list form and anything you send us by email.

Our form host also records basic technical information with each submission, such as the time of submission and the IP address it came from, which is used to block automated spam.
What we do not collect
- We do not ask for your Social Security number, your date of birth, your home address or your government login credentials, and you should never send them to us.
- We do not run advertising trackers, advertising pixels or third party analytics profiling on this site.
- We do not connect to any federal system. We have no access to Paycheck 8, to your agency records, or to anything inside a government network.
How we use it
- To build the product. Your answers directly shape what gets built first.
- To contact you. To tell you when a version is ready and, occasionally, to ask a follow up question about your answers.
- To understand demand in aggregate. Counting how many people picked each answer, with no names attached.
We do not use your information for automated decision making, and we do not build advertising profiles from it.
Who else touches it
We use a small number of service providers to run this site and send email. They process your information on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Netlify hosts this site and receives waiting list form submissions.
- Our email provider stores your address so we can send you the notification you asked for.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not trade or rent it. We do not share it with any employer, agency, union or third party marketer.
There are two narrow exceptions. We may disclose information if we are legally required to by a valid court order or subpoena, and if Wild Path Freedom LLC is ever sold or merged, waiting list information may transfer to the new owner under this same policy.
How long we keep it
We keep waiting list information until you ask us to delete it, or until we have launched and it no longer serves a purpose. If you unsubscribe, we remove you from the mailing list and keep only what we need to honor that request, such as a record that you asked not to be contacted.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email we send, at any time, using the link in that email.
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you and we will send it.
- Ask us to correct it if something is wrong.
- Ask us to delete it and we will, without asking you to justify the request.
Email us at the address below and we will respond as promptly as we can. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or national privacy law, and we will honor those rights when they apply.
Security
Information submitted through this site is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored with our service providers using their access controls and encryption at rest. Our commitments for the product itself are described on the Data and security page.
No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will tell affected people directly and promptly.
Children
This site is intended for working adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When Smokey Ledger launches and begins storing your actual time records, this policy will be expanded to cover that. If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for anything significant, email people on the waiting list rather than quietly changing the page.
